After making waves with his hit single, “Sweet Like Sugar”, Chicago based Ghanaian musician, Magic Rocker has released yet another breathtaking single dubbed, “Stop Speaking Vernacular”, which is a Christmas present to his fans and music lovers.

The multilingual musician who doubles as a songwriter and DJ won hearts after bouncing back with “Sweet Like Sugar” which is making rounds everywhere.

His latest danceable single has authentic African rhythm with a fusion of good drumbeats and base guitar, which are felt in the background. This groovy make up makes the song appealing and  danceable. A number of disc-jockeys (DJs) who have listened to Magic Rocker’s single opined that given the required promotion, the song could become one of the biggest songs on the continent. They have, thus, voted a huge thumbs-up for the new song, “Stop Speaking Vernacular”, and to Magic Rocker for his artistic creativity.

The mid tempo song was produced by the dream team consisting of Joshua Tetteh (King Jay’s Beat), Jaden Isiah Berkman (Jay the Ziah), Joseph Kojo Sam (Mr Sarge) and Richard Essien (Magic Rocker) for Gavali Music.

‘Stop Speaking Vernacular’ sang in Ga language shows Magic Rocker’s versatility as a songwriter and singer and gives hint as to the diversity of sound and musical styles fans should expect from his upcoming album up to be released next year.

The title of the song, “Stop Speaking Vernacular” takes us back to the days in school, when we were not allowed to flow in local parlances but only Official language. It also tackle attackers who deem themselves physically and spiritually fit. You will love and understand the song better if you are a Ga. If you ain’t, the groove will get you moving.

Using his own experience as an example, Joseph Matthew revealed that some gatekeepers in the industry have rejected him due to his dreadlocks and unconventional sound, which deviates from the typical Gospel music norm. He emphasized that what truly matters is the message of hope and redemption, not the messenger’s appearance or style.

Joseph Matthew’s courageous stance is a breath of fresh air in an industry often bound by tradition. He’s paving the way for a new generation of Gospel artistes to express themselves authentically, without fear of judgment or rejection.
