Young Ghanaian afrobeats sensation, Derrick Kweku Phidel Aditeye, trading in showbiz circles as Kweku Pee is poised to reignite the connection between him and his fans with a debut 2024 single titled “What’s Up”.

This vibrant musical masterpiece set to drop on 11th April 2024 promises to intrigue and captivate audiences with infectious rhythm and dynamic output of the acts.

What’s Up would be Kweku Pee’s major musical project since the release of his solo “Love And Emotions” EP that enlisted his presence in the music space as one of the country’s most promising Afrobeats artistes.

With What’s Up, the fast growing singer is seeking to build on the success of his EP,the acceptance by the music fans and industry but also the collaborative voice of colleague musician Herman Suede whom he features on What’s Up.

Speaking about the collaboration, Kweku Pee expressed his enthusiasm for working with Herman Seude, stating, “Herman is a phenomenal talent, and it was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with him on this track. His unique voice and artistic vision truly complemented the vibe we wanted to create with ‘Whats Up.’ Credited with production and creation of What’s Up is also fast growing music producer Swatybeats known for his works with Malcom Nuna and Yaw Tog.

In a recent interview with Metro TV, the talented artist boldly shared his thoughts on the rigid expectations placed on Gospel musicians in terms of dressing and style. He argued that it’s limiting and demeaning to condemn artists who don’t fit the traditional mold, simply because of their appearance or sound.

Using his own experience as an example, Joseph Matthew revealed that some gatekeepers in the industry have rejected him due to his dreadlocks and unconventional sound, which deviates from the typical Gospel music norm. He emphasized that what truly matters is the message of hope and redemption, not the messenger’s appearance or style.

Joseph Matthew’s courageous stance is a breath of fresh air in an industry often bound by tradition. He’s paving the way for a new generation of Gospel artistes to express themselves authentically, without fear of judgment or rejection.
