You Need Music Powerhouses To Go Global” Joseph Matthew Schools Nathaniel Bassey

Published

on

Nigerian musician and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey a week ago pleaded that Ghanaian Gospel musicians need to write more English songs to be able to go global. He made this plea at the just ended “Jesus Christ Encounter” event held at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 3rd, 2023. The story which became topical among industry folk got many supporting him.

UK based Ghanaian Afro-gospel musician, Joseph Matthew thinks otherwise. In a new video he posted on his socials, he explains why a musician does not need to necessarily sing in English before going global and how musicians can actually shine globally.

In his presentation, Joseph Matthew looked up the literal meaning of “music” in the dictionary which did not have any language factor in it. He further elaborated on why as a musician, you should not be bothered by the language of operation but be perculiar and intentional on marketing the song. This he said is the hardest stage because in Africa, there are not many ‘money pumping’ labels that are willing to push Gospel music in Africa to the apex.

The reigning “Uk Based Gospel Song Of The Year” winner further established how Burna Boy, although does not sing entirely in English is making waves globally, because of the music label behind him.
